Krisstel Clothing Store

Krisstel is a women's clothing store design and fit-out done end to end: we went with the client from the brief and 3D visualisation through production to installation. In a bright, high-ceilinged room, slim black metal does the work: perimeter wall rails, island stands and a white till.

Rails that carry their own light

One rail runs along the walls at one height. Slim uprights hold it, and each bay ends at the top in a cantilever with a linear light aimed at the hangers. The light is part of the fixture, so garments are lit evenly along the whole wall and no separate spotlight is needed per bay. Above the rail a field is left for image posters: the wall reads as one even band and the room does not feel crowded.

Island stands for a complete look

In the middle of the floor stand posts of black square section. Short arms leave each post in different directions and at different heights: one stand carries an outfit — coat, blouse, trousers — and some pieces face the customer front-on. The base is a low cube with mesh sides filled with white pebbles. They weigh the stand down without a heavy plate and have become a recognisable detail of the shop. A darker, denser take on metal and mesh is the clothing store with a wall-hung unit and colour lighting.

The till and the plinths

The cash desk is a white volume on a wide base with a dark green panel for the logo. A low white step runs along the walls. Lighting is hidden under the overhang of the desk and the step, so the plinth seems to float above the floor — the furniture looks lighter than its size.
