Self-service coffee kiosks for shopping malls
Self-service coffee kiosks for shopping malls: a series of free-standing islands built to one design and run under the Coffee Moffee and «Зроби сам» brands. The task was a coffee point with no barista: the customer walks up, takes a cup, pays at the terminal and collects the drink, while the kiosk itself has to stand out in a busy mall walkway. The coffee machines, terminals and organisers are the operator's equipment — we made the island itself.
A worktop on two levels
The top of the island is split into two heights. The coffee machine and payment terminal sit on the upper white worktop, set deeper and higher. Below it a step for the customer runs the full length, with round cup holders set into it and an opening for waste. Everything the customer needs is at hand on one level, and the equipment stays out of the way. The worktop and step are white with a fine speckle and rounded corners. An LED strip under the upper worktop lights the upright panel between the levels.
Black gloss and lighting
The body is made of black gloss panels, and the sides are rounded at the top, flowing smoothly into the step. In a crowded walkway that is safer — no sharp corner at hip height — and the smooth surface is easy to wipe. We used similar rounded furniture shapes in a curved reception desk with slats. The recessed white plinth is lit all the way round, so the island seems to float above the floor, and the logo on the front glows. Together with the accent lighting of the step it works like a sign: the point is visible from afar, even among neighbouring shop windows.
One design, many locations
At the back the island is closed by a row of handle-free doors running the full height of the body, with storage behind them. The design stays the same while the layout changes with the site: at a mall entrance, in a gallery walkway or on a shop floor, the cup step can run along the long side or sit on the short end.
