A live edge slab table made to order: a long top of two wide solid wood boards on a timber base. The table stands in the meeting area of a showroom and seats a large group.
The tabletop is made of two slabs of solid wood with a visible lengthwise joint between them. The edges are not trimmed to a straight line: they follow the shape of the trunk, so each side of the table is slightly different. The surface is matt, leaving the grain and the shifts from light to dark tones on show.
The supports are made of the same wood: heavy posts joined by a lengthwise stretcher that stops them spreading under the long top. The base is set back from the edges, so sitting is comfortable along the sides and at the ends. The same room holds a table, floating cabinets and an audio stand. Another long table is the one with a chevron top on metal supports, and for the home there is the slab dining table with a yellow inlay.
A live edge table suits a meeting room, a dining room or a large open-plan kitchen. We match the length, width and finish to the room. See custom furniture for business.
