A custom oval bar counter for Buns&Bottles cocktail bar at Lwowska 9 in Warsaw. An island bar with rounded ends stands in the middle of the room and organises the whole interior: guests sit all around, and the bartenders work inside.
In a venue with brick walls, a patterned floor and exposed services, the bar was meant to be the main stage. It needed a long counter that seats many guests, with a full back-up for cocktail work — and no sharp corners in the walkways.
The body is an elongated oval. The muted-blue fronts are divided by vertical black strips that wrap smoothly around the curves together with the body. The light marble-pattern top follows the line of the oval and overhangs towards the guests; bar stools fit underneath, and the overhang rests on black steel brackets.
Inside, it is a complete workstation for several bartenders. In the curved corners we fitted lockable cabinets with bent fronts, between them — niches for fridges and a dishwasher, and a work surface below the counter line for glassware and equipment. A tiered bottle display runs along the middle of the island, visible from every side of the room.
A black steel mesh rack hangs above the counter and repeats the oval of the bar — for glassware and decoration. Together with the ring lights it completes the composition and makes the bar visible from the entrance.
The long bar fits the rhythm of the room’s windows and columns without losing seats. Bent fronts and an oval top cannot be bought from a catalogue — they were made to measure in our facility and installed by our crew.
